How Patterns Align with Start Dates

Patterns in Advanced Scheduling cycle from Day 1 to Day 7 and can be longer if you choose multiple weeks in your rotation. After the pattern is created, the date you select as the start date when assigning the pattern to a line becomes Day 1, and the rest of the pattern follows from that point forward until the end date.

Examples

  • If you start the pattern on Sunday, then Day 1 is Sunday and Day 7 falls on Saturday.
  • If you start the pattern on Monday, then Day 1 is Monday and Day 7 falls on Sunday.
  • If you start the pattern on Tuesday, then Day 1 is Tuesday and Day 7 falls on Monday.

Notes

  • The start date you select determines which calendar day becomes Day 1 in the pattern.
  • The pattern always starts from Day 1 onward, regardless of which day of the week it is.
  • This behaviour applies to single-week and multi-week rotations.
  • To test or preview a pattern, add it to a line and verify which day of the week your pattern falls.
